About usFriend is a charity group established in April 1997 by Japanese homemakers who lived in Shanghai. Our mission is to support the educational needs of underprivileged children who live in economically challenged regions in China. There were many low-income households with monthly income less than RMB700 (USD100) in the Western part of China, and more than1 million children who could't go to school. Therefore, we decided to funnel our support through "Project Hope," organised by the China Youth Development Foundation (en.cydf.org.cn). So far, our donations have been used to build 4 primary school buildings, and each of those schools was named Friend Hope School. In addition, we helped fund the renovation of primary schools and built health service centres and Hope Kitchens in primary schools, as well as provide training materials to teachers. Separately, we acted to support children in Sichuan in China, and in Eeastern Japan when enormous earthquakes hit those regions. The name 互人多 is pronounced "friend" in Chinese. We adopted that name because we hope that more and more people who value helping each other will join us. Through our charitable activities, we will help underprivileged children in China. We would warmly welcome your generous support. |
Friend's Handicraft ClubHandicraft lovers get together on Wednesdays in Gubei to make lots of fine handicrafts. Our main language to use is Japanese. We sell our products throughout different events in Shanghai. This is how we raise money for charity. |
